Out in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (oSTEM), is a 501(c)(3) non-profit professional association for LGBTQ+ people in the STEM community. With over 100 student chapters at colleges/universities and professional chapters in cities across the United States and abroad, oSTEM is the largest chapter-based organization focused on LGBTQ+ people in STEM.
oSTEM @ Reed was founded last year and consists of four officers and one staff advisor who organize community events, distribute information, and provide support for other LGBTQ+ individuals in the Reed STEM community. Last year, oSTEM @ Reed helped to renovate the Pride Center (GCC 43), brought students to the oSTEM Conference in Anaheim CA, invited guest speakers, hosted career panels and more! This year oSTEM @ Reed is hoping to focus more on community building events in the Pride Center, while providing necessary resources for LGBTQ+ folks in STEM.
